Don is a Certified Professional Photographer and in 2006 received both the Master of Photography
and Photographic Craftsman degrees from PPA. He has also earned the highest level degree (Distinguished Colleague of Photography)
from the NHPPA.
Don has taught lighting programs around New England.
He has presented programs at both the Maine and Vermont annual Conferences. He has taught at monthly meetings in ME, NH, VT, CT, RI.
He taught lighting for many daylong programs including PPA Super Monday's and NHPPA Photo Festivals (6 consecutive years) and private study.
In 2007, Don was invited to coach students in studio portraiture attending the week long Larson Light Pro Expo in Ft. Myers Florida.
Don has published articles on lighting with PPA as well. Most recently writing a 4 part series on Studio Portraiture for PPA's Professional Photographer Magazine.
Don has won many awards in competition including (2x) NHPPA Photographer-of-the-Year, Best of Show, numerous Courts of Honor
five Kodak Gallery awards and 2 ASP State Elite awards. On the national level, Don has 12 PPA Loan Collection images as well as 4 consecutive
PPA Photographer-of-the-Year awards including one Diamond level POY!. All of Don's awards are for portraits!
Don is also available to judge prints at State level competitions. He completed a one day judges workshop offered through PPANE
in 2004. To date Don has judged numerous state level competitions, including the following states; ME, VT, MA, RI, CT, MD & PA.
